Be creative! Be unique! Be a Unicorn in this magical dance class! Your snazzy dancer will learn energetic jazz dance technique, jazz dance terminology, play Unicorn themed games, and learn a dance combination! Welcome to Unicorn Dance Class! I can't wait to dance together! This class will begin with a Unicorn game! We will then move into a warm up and stretch. Next will be across the floor and center floor where we will learn jazz dance movement and terminology. We will end class with a fun and energetic Unicorn dance!
Learning Goals
Students will learn jazz dance terminology and movement while dancing to fun and familiar songs. We will practice balance, flexibility, and coordination skills. Most of all we will have FUN!

Parental Guidance
Please create a space that is open and large enough for your dancer to move, dance, jump and glide without bumping into things. Learners should wear comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. Unicorn attire is encourage, but not required. Learners should either wear jazz shoes, ballet shoes or have bare feet. Please no socks, as dancers can easily slip while wearing them. After our welcome and game, we will begin our warmup by sitting on the floor to stretch. We will then move to standing for the remainder of the class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Miss Amy loves teaching students of all ages! She has had the privilege of teaching dancers as young as 2 and as old as 82. As a teacher, Amy's focus is to inspire young people to pursue their love of the arts by increasing youth education in dance and musical theater as a way to express oneself and build confidence. She teaches classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, creative movement, musical theater dance, and acting. Amy regularly holds Master Classes and Workshops in Audition Techniques, as well as summer camps where students can come to learn, love and grow as they experience dance, sometimes for the first time.
Miss Amy is a teaching artist, choreographer, director, and performer based out of North Texas. She received her Masters Degree from Texas Woman's University, and her Bachelors Degree from the University of North Texas, with an emphasis on Dance, Theater and Music. Amy has taught many places, including private dance studios, arts academies, charter schools and universities. She also is the owner and instructor of Crescendo School of Dance, as well as a freelance choreographer throughout the DFW area.
In her personal life, Miss Amy lives in Texas with her husband and brand new baby boy! She is excited to begin her journey into motherhood and can't wait to start dancing with her own little one!
