My class will combine videos with slides to introduce students to biotechnology. We will cover it's origins, key terms and definitions, cloning and recombinant DNA technology, current applications, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of creating genetically modified organisms. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions at regular intervals during the presentation. They will also be given the chance to communicate what they currently know about the subject to everyone in the group.

I have an M.S. degree in molecular biology and have worked in a research lab. My experience includes over 20 years in the biopharmaceutical industry selling products and services to Ph.D. level scientists in the pre-clinical drug discovery sector. I have also taught science and math for over 10 years in public and charter schools to kids aged 6-18 and have tutored individual students over 6 years.
