Class Experience

Standard Addressed: 1.NBT.2 Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones. 

When finished with both classes, students will be able to identify numbers within 99 by representing them and their place valuing using tens rods and ones cube. 
I am a first grade teacher who is a lover of math! Place value is a key foundational math skill that students will continuing using throughout their elementary school years. 
There will be no homework assigned.
 3 files available upon enrollment
Printable included for: Tens + ones mat and Tens rods and ones cubes OR can use straws (or popsicle sticks) for tens and cotton balls as ones and a white board/piece of paper for the mat.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
