Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Explaining money, economics & business using Minecraft. (No Gameplay. The teacher will show examples from Minecraft)
In this class, a certified teacher and former banker/investment advisor will explain ONE of the following topics: how money began, what an economy is, and how business works in the world, using concepts from Minecraft. Each session your student is enrolled for covers a different topic.

In this class, your child will have a chance to:
- Learn how money began
- Learn how natural resources are the key to world business
- Understand what an "economy" is
- Learn about trade and industry
- Learn how and why people start businesses
- Learn about banking and savings

Minecraft is a great game to teach the basics of money, trade, the economy, and business. This class does not involve any game playing of Minecraft. The teacher's Minecraft world may be used at times to illustrate concepts to the students. Again there is no game playing by the students.

Learning Goals

Students will improve their understanding of these key concepts: Money, what is it? How did money begin? How early civilizations traded. What is a natural resource? Why are they important? What is an economy? What is a business? How do people run businesses? What is a bank? What do banks do? What are savings? Why is it important to save?
