Understanding Fact Families

Students will develop their fluency with basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division fact (0-10) through vocabulary development and practice with fact families.

Class Experience

1. Students will be able to identify the following parts in a math problem: addend, difference, dividend, divisor, minuend, multiplicand, multiplier, product, quotient, subtrahend, and sum.

2. Students will be able to complete and create addition / subtraction fact families.

3. Students will be able to complete and create multiplication / division fact families.

4. Students will be able to use their fact families to improve fluency with basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. 
Students may be asked to complete activities if they demonstrate a need for additional practice. 
Required: Each student should have paper and pencil available as they will be talking notes and completing some activities independently. Optional: If students a small dry erase board, they may choose to use that for responses for certain activities. If not, paper and pencil responses are acceptable.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
