Understanding Exponent Rules
In this one time classes, we will break down the exponent rules and learn how to use them to simplify exponential expressions.
Class experience
US Grade 5 - 8
This class can serve as an introduction or a refresher of the exponent rules for your learner. I will show the learners how to figure out the rules by expanding simple expressions. The main challenge students face in simplifying exponential expressions is keeping the different rules straight. Once the students understand how to derive the rules, they no longer have to rely on memory. We will also work practice problems that use a single rule and more challenging problems that combine...

I have a masters degree in Biomedical Engineering. I have experience teaching math at the community college level.
Homework Offered
At the end of the class, students will be given a worksheet of practice problems including basic and challenge level. They have the option to turn it in within a week of finishing the class for teacher feedback.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
