Understanding and Memorizing Multiplication Facts

This class goes beyond simple rote memorization. Students will gain an understanding of how multiplication works, patterns in multiplication and a systematic way to memorize and learn multiplication facts. Suitable for students in third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades.

Description

Class Experience

In this class we will cover what is multiplication, repeated addition, creating arrays, skip counting, patterns in multiplication, and memorization tricks/hints. In teaching this topic I break the multiplication table into 4 quadrants and we concentrate on one section each week.  Each week we will also cover one aspect of understanding multiplication and then we will concentrate on memorizing facts. 
Below are the topics for each week. Work that is to be graded needs to be turned in by Friday...

No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.

Flashcards will need to be cut out so parental guidance is needed.
