Hand sewing is an art and a life skill for learners to explore. Handwork introduces the lesson of process and practice. It develops dexterity and fine motor skills of the hands. Sewing, particularly hand sewing, builds the capacity for sustained attention and focus as well as building self confidence and self expression. This class is highly interactive and I encourage students to ask questions and ask for help. I teach in a gentle, Waldorf inspired way. In this fun camp, we will create felt stuffed animals ("felties") of sea life. Students will learn basics of sewing including threading needles, sewing on buttons, cutting out patterns and fabric, running stitches and the blanket stitch. Day 1: Jellyfish Day 2: Starfish Day 3 Fish Day 4: Octopus No prior sewing experience is required, This is a great camp for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS! Come join us and learn a great new hobby!
