Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will learn about and discuss many different uncommon dinosaurs. Many children who are interested in dinosaurs already know so much about them. This class will challenge their knowledge by introducing them to different, less common dinosaurs.

There will be 2 dinosaurs discussed in each class.

We will discuss what they ate (using detailed vocabulary), how big they were, and what time period they lived in.

Class 1 - Amargasaurus, Nothronychus
Class 2 - Ankylosaurus, Carnotaurus
Class 3 - Gigantoraptor, Velociraptor
Class 4 - Ichthyosaurs, Plesiosaurs (not dinosaurs, but we discuss these extinct marine reptiles and how they are often mistaken for dinosaurs)
Class 5 - Kotasaurus, Pantydraco
Class 6 - Troodon, Iguanodon
Class 7 - Tarbosaurus, Euoplocephalus
Class 8 - Pachycephalosaurus, Parasaurolophus
Class 9 - Ceratosaurus, Allosaurus
Class 10 - Thecodontosaurus, Herrerasaurus
Class 11 - Liliensternus, Torvosaurus
Class 12 - Struthiomimus, Gallimimus
Class 13 - Therizinosaurus, Diplodocus
Class 14 - Dilophosaurus, Kosmoceratops
Class 15 - Giganotosaurus, Eoraptor
Class 16 - Majungasaurus, Edmontosaurus
Class 17 - Deinocheirus, Compsognathus
Class 18 - Chasmosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus
Class 19 - Styracosaurus, Deinonychus
Class 20 - Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus (these are pretty common dinosaurs, but kids always ask about them - so we will finish with these!)

At the end of each class, we will play a game called "Name that Dinosaur" where students will take turns naming the dinosaurs discussed in class. Students are encouraged to bring their own dinosaur to class. There will be a "show & tell" at the end of each class, after the game, where students are encouraged to share about the dinosaur they brought. This is optional.

Students are welcome to join at any time and do not have to attend all classes.

If only ONE student is available for class, the class may be shortened to 25 minutes instead of 30. This is due to the fact that less children means less conversation in class.

Hey y'all!

My name is Ellen Fischer and I am SO excited that you are here!

I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2015 and currently live in Texas with my husband and my daughter. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and I also hold an ESL certification.

I have taught Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten in person for the last 5 years and I absolutely love it. Each year, I have helped 20+ kindergarten (or PreK) students reach their reading goals and establish a solid foundation for reading for the rest of their lives. In 2016, I was awarded New Teacher of the Year in my district and I am looking forward to using my teaching abilities to help you grow as a reader on this online platform!

I teach a variety of classes that each involve helping young learners grow into strong readers. Learning to read involves SO much more than memorizing words and flipping pages. It requires skills that are taught at a very young age - and I'm here to help you learn those skills. I believe that each child has the potential to be a great reader. Reading is FUN and it should be taught in a fun manner.

I also LOVE teaching fun & engaging classes just for FUN! I love dinosaurs, yoga, holidays, weather, and all things animals!

Be on the lookout for a variety of classes from me!

Let's LEARN and GROW!
