Class Experience

In this intermediate French class that meets weekly, students will come into class and learn about one verb each week in French. This class is focused on helping students understand how verbs work in French. In my experience, intermediate French students tend to have difficulty conjugating verbs. This class will enable students to become comfortable with using verbs in a fun setting.

Students will learn the meaning of the verb, go over the conjugation in two tenses: présent et passé composé.

We will have a few minutes for introductions, and then move into learning. This class will be taught primarily in French (It will be about 90% Fench, 10% English). I will translate the verb and story into English for the students as we are reading to help with understanding.

In this class students will have the opportunity to interact with each other and the teacher.

There will be a PowerPoint, which will cover the verb of the week, the short story and the conjugations.

The verb of the week will be:
Week of May 5: Voir

In the last five minutes of class, students will be asked to write down the conjugations of the verb of the week in both tenses. Students are asked to bring paper and a pen or pencil to class to write down the verb conjugations.

As this is a language class, students are strongly encouraged to come to class with a working microphone so they can interact with the teacher. Students should be able to read and write to join this class. This is an intermediate-level French class taught in French, so it is strongly recommended that students should have at least 6 months experience in French prior to coming to class.

I grew up in a bilingual household here in Canada and we spoke both French and English growing up. Learning multiple languages is a great tool for world travellers, and it is a fantastic tool to stimulate your brain. I love speaking French and cannot wait to share my love of this language with you!
