Class Experience

Who really knows the most about Batman, Loki, the Avengers, and all the other heroes and villains? Will it be you? If you’re a superhero or villain fan, this class is for you! Let see how much you know, while meeting other fans, and maybe learning some fun facts about our favorite heroes and villains.

In round two, students will be challenging themselves once again in a fun interactive game of trivia on Kahoot where they will test their knowledge on superheroes and villains. The different rounds are made of completely different questions and students are free to take them in any order as they are independent of each other. Costumes and props are highly welcomed, along with snacks! This class is informal and designed to let kids have fun with other kids who love the superhero genre.

Students may download the app to a secondary device (preferred method), or access the following web address- Kahoot.it. If they plan to use one device they should become familiar with moving back and forth between zoom and the Kahoot screen. I will enter the secret game PIN at the beginning of our class. I ask students to not use Google, Siri, Alexa, or other digital resources to keep the game fair. I hope to see you soon!

Learning Goals

I will encourage students to use good sportsmanship while playing the game and engage positively with their peers. It’s also a splendid chance to work on appropriate social skills for a virtual classroom.

Hello everyone! I am so happy to be teaching at Outschool. My first goal is to create an engaging and fun environment that will help foster a genuine love for learning. My passion is to help students discover what they want to learn about whether or not it is academic.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and have been working with school-age children for over nine years. I started working as a Youth Advocate where I taught students’ academic, social, and communication skills. This is where I fell in love with teaching kids by accident and realized how life-altering a true interest in learning anything can be. Since then I’ve worked with an after-school program in which I got the joy of instructing large groups of students in creating various arts, crafts, and science projects. Last, I spent five years teaching as a Paraeducator with higher needs students for a local elementary school before going freelance this year as an ESL teacher. My years in the classroom have made me comfortable teaching academic (math, reading, writing), behavioral, and social skills.

Outside of the classroom, I spend my time doing art, writing, hanging out with my family, and playing with my crazy ferrets. My parent also developed a curiosity about the natural world throughout my childhood I spent many days at museums, camping, and outdoors in my youth. That is why I often spend a considerable amount of my free time reading about animals, dinosaurs, and other prehistorical creatures. As a lifelong learner, I spend far too much learning about various topics in many fields including psychology, sociology, and other fields related to social sciences. I hope one day to get my Master’s in Social Sciences and teach at a college.
