We will review increasingly difficult topics in more sophisticated problems from the first year of Calculus. We will not be teaching new topics, but we will be exposed to new problem-solving methods and ideas. Before the first class, a free online diagnostic will be sent to the students to help with pod assignment. Each class will begin with an example demonstration by the teacher before moving to the workshops. The examples will come from the optional review videos homework. Our workshops will consist of pods of three students each, which will be re/arranged at the teacher's discretion to maximize learning. All the pods will be working on the same material, a "circuit," as the teacher rotates through them for interaction and reinforcement purposes. We will enjoy a collaborative environment where students will be challenged to take risks, assess the results of their problem-solving skills, and be exposed to alternative techniques. The teacher encourages students to ask questions which they then attempt to resolve, while receiving guidance.
Learning Goals
Students will reinforce their mental and number sense skills.
Students will refine their Algebra skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Mesa State College AKA Colorado Mesa University
Hello! I taught university for nine years and have professionally tutored over 4300 hours of Prealgebra through Calculus 3.
I believe all my students are more than smart enough to learn and master the math in their life. Making mistakes is part of the adventure! The more the student does the more they will learn.
I love camping in the mountains with my imediate and extended family.
