The Quest for Light

Lesson 2
A Mystical Flying Horse
We will customize the appearance and behavior of the mob with Tynker Mob Editor, and deploy it in our Minecraft world. Learning Objectives: - Understand the Tynker Mob Behavior Editor interface - Learn to customize mobs - Learn to edit mob behavior - Summon mobs in the world
Lesson 3
Farm Tales
We will use the inventory to build a fence in Minecraft and spawn multiple farm animals in it using code. And also will be introduced to coding. We will learn to use code blocks on Tynker to summon multiple mobs at once in the Minecraft world. Learning Objectives: - Learn to build simple fence/boundary in Minecraft - Understand the Tynker Mod Editor interface, and how to connect it with Minecraft - Learn to spawn mobs (animals) in Minecraft using code
Lesson 4
The Sorcerer's Fortress
We will be introduced to the concept of loops and learn how to repeat tasks automatically such as summoning multiple entities. Additionally, we will customize Minecraft blocks in the Tynker editor. Finally, we will deploy the customized block in their Minecraft world. Learning Objectives: - Learn to build simple 3D structures in Minecraft - Encourage children to customize blocks in Minecraft - Activate customize block to enhance the structure - Learn about loops concept

Lesson 5
Shield the Fortress
We will learn to create dynamic effects in Minecraft as a player walks. We will use code blocks to detect player movement and generate a lava trail based on their position and built a teleportation pad in the Minecraft world. Learning Objectives: - Learn to build traps and defense using code - Learn to place blocks on walk event in Minecraft
Lesson 6
Creeper Attack
We will customize an item (a bow) using Tynker’s Minecraft Editor. We will learn about variables and use it to count the number of enemies defeated using code blocks. Lastly, we will use the customized bow and tipped (harming) arrows to defeat the Creeper Corps. Learning Objectives: - Encourage children to customize an item in Minecraft - Learn to change game mode using chat command - Learn to spawn multiple enemies using code - Learn about variable concept
Lesson 7
Power Up
We will learn about Minecraft enchantments, which is a way to upgrade or add special abilities to Minecraft items. Additionally, we will learn to apply the effect to the player using code blocks. Learning Objectives: - Learn to code superpowers for the player - Learn to enchant an item in Minecraft - Encourage game play and shoot arrows at the mob
Lesson 8
Freedom Celebration
We will learn how to build 3D structures such as trampoline in Minecraft. Additionally, we will learn how to use a dispenser to build a fireworks launcher. Learning Objectives: - Learn to dispense items using dispenser in Minecraft - Learn to trigger events in Minecraft using button
Minecraft Bedrock Edition is required for this program and it requires a Microsoft account to play.

In this class, the student is expected to have the Minecraft Bedrock version installed on their system before joining the class. Bedrock version only works on the Windows PC. If you are using a Mac/Chromebook it is recommended to install Minecraft on a second device such as an iPad/tab.
We will share the step-by-step guide to install Minecraft and account creation.
In case you encounter any challenges while installing Minecraft, we will be more than happy to assist you.

The teacher will be able to see the username/gamertag of the student during the class.

Tynker does not require account creation, password is supplied at time of the class.
