I enjoy teaching on Outschool as it gives me the chance to meet learners from all over the world as I help them overcome learning obstacles and motivate & inspire them to achieve their potential!

The classes I have created on Outschool stem from my experience and dedicated focus as I homeschooled my own two children, centering mostly on spelling help for struggling spellers and self-improvement topics for teens and pre-teens.

My spelling classes help learners gain confidence with their spelling, providing them with the tools and encouragement to become less intimidated by and have more control over spelling. Often when we can explain why words are spelled the way they are, our brains are better able to make sense of spelling.

I am also well known for my planning skills and enjoy the chance to share my planning, organizational, and motivational tips and tools with others. My classes that focus on wellness, planning, time management, and gratitude help teens & pre-teens become more positive, organized, and purposeful in how they spend their time.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California at Davis, I worked as a Project Manager and volunteered my time as an academic tutor for subjects such as French and English Language Arts, a faith formation teacher for preschool-age to middle school, and as a youth group leader for middle school and high school girls. I have homeschooled my children from kindergarten through high school and have a strong knowledge base in dyslexia and effective ways to teach dyslexic learners.

My work, home, and volunteer experiences have shaped my approach to teaching. Children learn best when classes and curriculum are personalized for them and when someone helps them find the tools to overcome their weaknesses or the inspiration they need to achieve their ambitions. I like to take the extra time to determine what my students need to learn and achieve their goals, then work on providing that for them, coupled with encouragement and empathy.

I enjoy reading, easy crochet projects, day trips, and could never get tired of eating tacos!
