In this class we will play several variations of dice games, using 5-10 dice of similar size, where learners with be engaged in the Math concepts of matching by number, sorting and grouping by number, and recognizing and creating patterns. The games will be introduced with time to learn and practice before competition rounds. We will play non-speed games as well as competitive games. Each class can decide if we keep score or not. The goal is to have fun, learn new games and internalize Math concepts while captivated in play.
Learning Goals
K.M.D.B.3-Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.
K.CC.C.6-Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group, e.g., by using matching and counting strategies.

K.CC.B.5 -Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
