In Ukulele Camp, we will meet three times over the course of one week and I will guide your student through the basics of ukulele. We will learn the string names, how to read tablature, how to read a chord diagram, how to play the chromatic scale of C, learn three major chords (C, G, F) and as the grand finale, we will learn the Happy Birthday song to play as a finger-style tab (and the option of playing with the chords) for family and friends! They will receive a printable handout to go along with the lessons. We will also have some time to practice, practice, practice! My intention for this ukulele camp is to introduce ukulele in a fun and relaxed way that is enjoyable for learners and sets a foundation for a life long love of the ukulele and confidence in themselves. Here is an itinerary of Ukulele Camp: Day 1: Get to know each other, learn about the ukulele parts, string names, how to tune, how to hold your ukulele, how to squeeze the string, read tab and chord diagrams Day 2: Review tab and chord diagrams, learn the chromatic scale Day 3: Learn Happy Birthday fingerstyle tab and/or chords and practice! After students complete the Ukulele Camp, message me if you would like to receive a certificate of completion!. What your student will need: a tuned ukulele (or a ukulele and a tuner), a print out of the booklet that I will upload The different types of ukulele are soprano, concert and tenor ukuleles (tuning for these is GCEA - or C tuning) and the baritone ukulele (tuned to DGBE - known as G tuning) I have been a musician and singer-songwriter for 18 years and I love cultivating a confidence and love of music in youth. I have performed at restaurants, county fairs, University of Florida, and special events like weddings, dinners and rehearsals. I have taught ukulele classes to a number of people and really enjoy the learning process!
