1-2 hours per week. The only homework for this class will be practicing what we learned in class. I will send students an optional practice log to keep track of their practice.Assessment
Each student will receive personalized written feedback for each each audio/video recording they submit. Written feedback will include things that they excelled at and things they need to practice.Class Experience
In this 4 lesson self-paced class, beginning ukulele students will learn to pick and strum "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". No prior knowledge is required, but it is recommended that students take my "Surf" and/or "Wipeout" class first, where we will learn the chords (Surf) and I explain how to read ukulele tablature (tabs). The students need to already have their ukuleles tuned to the notes G, C, E and A. Since practice is an important part of learning an instrument, it is recommended that students practice 15 minutes, 4 days per week for a total of 60 minutes practice per week. Optional practice logs will be provided. Since this is a self-paced, pre-recorded class instead of a live class, students will have the opportunity to send me audio and/or video recording after each lesson to check their progress. I will provide personalized written feedback for each recording a student sends. I will also include models of how to correctly play each section of the song in the pre-recorded videos.
