Students will learn how to play the ukulele or guitar and feel confident playing various chords and songs. Students will learn chords, strumming patterns, music theory, and more. Students will then take the knowledge they learn to practice their favorite songs. I use a progressive curriculum that introduces chords one at a time, as well as progressively difficult strumming patterns. The curriculum is customized to the learner. For those that are completely new to the ukulele/guitar, the following curriculum shows the general progression for 8 weeks. Week 1: Introduction to the ukulele, strumming the instrument, parts of the instrument. Learn C Chord Week 2: Review C chord and strumming patterns. Learn F Chord. Week 3: Learn F Chord. Review C Chord. Practice switching between F and C. Week 4: Learn A minor. Review F, C, and strumming patterns. Week 4: Learn G Chord. Review F, C, and A minor Week 5: Strumming Patterns Review F, C, and G. Week 6: "You Are My Sunshine" practice. Week 7: Practice You are my sunshine learn C7 Week 8: Learn G7. Review C7. I have a relaxing teaching structure that is very student-centered. I adapt my lessons to my students and try different methods to aid in student success. Students will be actively playing the ukulele throughout the class. Students do not need any prior experience. Please email me prior to our first class so I know the approximate level to start your child at. This is an eight-week scheduled ukulele lesson. Perfect for those who would like to reserve your spot for 8 weeks at a time.
