Over the span of four weeks students will learn the basics of playing the ukulele and some popular songs. Week 1: Lesson 1- mini lesson -Learn the parts of the ukulele -How to hold the ukulele Interaction Element: Post a video/picture of yourself holding the ukulele Lesson 2- mini lesson -Tuning the ukulele Interaction: post a video of playing your ukulele strings for comments on the tuning Lesson 3 - mini lesson - how to strum - C chord - How to strum Row Row Row your Boat - how to...
Students will learn the basics of playing ukulele such as: - how to hold the ukulele -how to strum and pluck the ukulele - how to tune the ukulele - The strings on the ukulele - basic chords such as C, C7, F, and A minor - what is a measure, and the basics of reading sheet music
Each week students will have the option to record themselves playing our songs and post them to the classroom for comments from me and our peers. Students should aim to practice about 10 minutes a day at a minimum.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
