The ukulele (uke) is a fun 4-stringed instrument that is easy to learn. You'll be playing popular songs after just one class! Learn the basics of playing ukulele including tuning, chords, strum patterns and techniques. We will learn chords and chord progressions that are used in thousands of songs, new and old. We will also talk about how to find ukulele music online and useful apps for your phone. By the end of this class you'll be able to bring your uke with you anywhere so that you're...
I love being able to play an instrument that is portable - I can take my ukulele anywhere to create music, by myself or with friends and family. I have such a passion for music and feel it can be a great bridge between people.
Hey All! I'm super excited about getting started with our class! Welcome to Ukulele Jumpstart! I'm excited to get going with this class. You will need to have a ukulele during the sessions in order to get the most out of the class. If you don't have one, there are many really inexpensive ones you can pick up from local music stores or order online. Send me a message if you need help finding one! One thing that would make the first day go smoother is to make sure your instrument is in tune. If you're not sure how to do this, here's a YouTube video that talks about the process. It's not one of my videos, it just is a good one. Tune your Ukulele: https://youtu.be/2VOuRBjmzAM The tuning process can be done either with an electronic tuner that might have come with your instrument, or with an app you download to your phone. I'm a fan of Guitar Tuna - it's free and works for both guitars and ukuleles. We will be talking about tuning in the first class anyway, but this would just give everyone a jump on things. Thanks! John =)
