In this one-time course, students will become familiar with their ukulele instrument (terms, counting frets, strings, etc.), and learn how to play the 3 simple ukulele songs using the fingerpicking method (no chords/strumming).
Class experience
In this one-time class for absolute beginners to the fingerpicking method, we will begin with an interactive lecture about learning correct terms (counting frets, reading notations, etc.), identifying the different parts of our instruments (strings, body, bridge, fret board, neck, etc.). After that we will move on to learning how to fingerpick the ukulele strings to create melodies, and end our class by playing 3 or 4 simple songs that students can "take home" to practice on their own (copies...

1 file available upon enrollment-Ukulele (Note: The teacher uses a "soprano" ukulele, but any real ukulele instrument will be acceptable. However, please note that the tone/pitch of the student instrument may be slightly different than that of the teacher if it is a different model.) -Ukulele Tuner (app version or physical device is recommended)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
