Got an itch to learn the ukulele?  This class is for you!  Through this jam packed 6 week class, students will learn uke basics such as chords, fingering picking, and even a little singing(which is completely optional for your learner).   Class will begin with a review of previous knowledge of the ukulele(but don't worry, no previous knowledge is needed) and then we will learn our focus concept of the day.  We will practice our new fond ukulele knowledge together by playing along with a recording.  We will end class with a chance for everyone to share something they learned that day and for learners to ask questions.

Between each class, learners will be expected to submit short videos of themselves playing so the teacher can give feedback to help them become ukulele rockstars.  The videos can be submitted via the Outschool classroom. By the end of the course, students will be able to play and sing two songs on the ukulele as well as read music.

Here is the list of concept for each week:
Week One:  Parts of the Ukulele, quarter notes and quarter rests, finger picking on the open strings
Week Two:  C major, F major, and A minor, learn how to read a chord chart
Week Three:  Staff and treble clef, A and G major chords
Week Four:  Read a lead shet
Week Five:  High C, D, and F, learn the C major scale pattern, learn 6 strumming patterns
Week Six:  Learn two songs in C Major
