Music

The size and simplicity of a ukulele make it easy for kids to pick up and learn.  This 12 week ukulele course is designed for ages 8-10 with an emphasis on creativity.  We will learn chords, scales, music theory, and fun songs together.  

A 13 week ukulele course that will get you playing the ukulele and beginning to write your own songs!   

This week we will learn about how to treat our ukulele, how to hold the ukulele, parts of a ukulele, intro into reading a chord chart, easy chords that use no fingers, and how we can capture our ideas.  


Welcome to Ukulele for Beginners!

Did you know there are many different sounds that can come from the ukulele?  This week we will learn about playing with a slide, muting the strings, harmonics, and bending strings.  We will also talk about the different sizes of ukulele and how that affects the sounds.   We will end by learning a song that uses all the easy no finger chords we learned last week.

this week we will take a look at ll the different types and sizes of ukulele, how we can mute strings, what are harmonics, and how to bend a string.  We will also learn about playing rhythms on the ukulele like a drum, review the chords we learned last week and learn a new song!

This week we will review everything we have discussed in weeks 1-4.  we will also work on playing through songs that we have learned together.

Another week to review all of the chords, play through songs, and strumming patterns that were discussed in weeks 1-4.

This lesson will introduce two finger chords and an eighth note strumming pattern.  We will continue to work on our no finger chords and one finger chords.

This week we will look at how to read ukulele tab.  We will practice with finger exercises using the tab we just learned.

This week we will play through songs that we have learned in weeks 1-8 together.  We will also learn a couple new two finger chords.

We will learn what each fret name is, how to build a simple scale and learn a few easy major scales.  We will also discuss how we can use scales and chords together to make a song.
