This class is class 5 in a series of classes. Students can skip classes 3 and 4 if they already understand strumming patterns and don't need a follow up/review class. In this class, students will learn other easy chords to play and new songs, incorporating the new chords with those already learned in classes 1 and 2. Students will learn to play G7, Gm, D7, and Dm. These are important chords to learn in order to play certain songs. The teacher will model each chord, and students will be encouraged to practice and demonstrate for the class. The teacher will guide students in finger placement and correct strumming patterns. We will discuss the difference in sound between major and minor chords and why they are both important in songs. At the end of class, we will play songs together using some of the new chords - "Hush Little Baby", "Jingle Bells", "Over the River and Through the Woods" and more.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding, ability, and confidence in playing ukulele chords.
