This class is for ukulele students who are able to play at least three chords. Students will expand upon this knowledge by learning more chords, a little music theory, strumming patterns and songs. Week 1 - We will review the C, Am, and F chords. We will review/introduce the G chord. We will review ukulele basics and practice strumming patterns while switching between these chords. The teacher will inquire about the favorite music of students and ask for suggestions for songs to learn during this bootcamp. Week 2 - We will begin working on a song. Input from the students is appreciated. If no input is given, then the teacher will choose the song. This song will use some or all of the chords that the students already know (C, Am, F, and G). Students will practice timing, counting, switching chords, and strumming patterns. Week 3 - We will review the song from the previous week and see if any students need assistance. We will continue working on this song, if necessary. If there is time, we will begin working on a new song. Students will be introduced to the D and E chords. Week 4 - We will review the previous week's content. Students will get an introduction to finger-picking the ukulele.

Bachelor's Degree from Grand Valley State University
I teach music classes for the ukulele, guitar, and harmonica. I teach classes about writing, debating, and creating logical arguments without fallacies. I have a small farm and live in a yurt in western Colorado. My wife, Brooke VanDyke, is an excellent ukulele teacher on Outschool as well.
I enjoy connecting with each student and adapting my teaching style to best fit his or her needs.
