In this multi-day course, students will learn how to play the basic chords, strumming techniques, and simple songs on the Ukulele instrument.
Class experience
In this multi-day class, we will begin by learning correct terms (frets, chords, strumming, tuning, etc), identifying the different parts of our instruments, and tuning our instruments. Then we will move on to learning a few basic chords, building in difficulty and intensity as we progress our learning during the entire course. Students will be taught how to strum in different rhythms to match each song tempo (example: down, down, up, down, up...). They will also be playing simple songs from...
Students will learn and improve upon their musical ability with playing the ukulele and memorizing its chord fingerings. Singing is heavily encouraged, although it is not necessary a part of the curriculum (songs/melodies will be taught and singing or humming the tune is helpful to beginner students).

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
A ukulele tuner app is highly beneficial (and free). I use one simply called "ukelele tuner" from the Apple store; it has a mint green background and over-sized white letters that spell "uku-lele". The student may also want to watch YouTube tutorial videos as review or extra practice on the topics and techniques that we learn in class.
