Class Experience

Ukulele specific topics will include tuning, how the ukulele works, string letter names, reading finger numbers, the four beginner chords (C, G7, F, Am). Students will be introduced to basic music literacy including rhythms, music note letter names, and reading off of a lead chart.
I have been a music teacher since 2012 when I graduated from Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford and received my K-12 teaching license in Connecticut. Since 2012 I have spent time teaching PreK-8th grade general music and chorus, including music literacy, music history, movement, and ukulele. After completing my second degree, a Master’s in Music Education from Boston University, I decided to start my own private music teaching studio in Santa Monica, CA.
Students will have a simple worksheet covering the ukulele or literacy concept covered in the live lesson.
Ukulele Handouts and worksheets will be provided through the Outschool Classroom.
Worksheets will be graded and reviewed if necessary. The teacher will hear the student individually to assess the concept that has been practiced throughout the week.
4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
