***This class is not for complete beginners. Students need to know how to independently tune their ukuleles and be comfortable playing the C, F, Am, and G chords.*** This class is for continuation of my Ukulele Bootcamp: Part 1 class for young musicians who new to ukulele. We will build on skills learned in part one while continuing to learn new ukulele skills. By the end of this class, students will learn several basic strumming patterns and will be able to play four new chords in addition C, F, Am, G.
Mrs. Grimsrud is an experienced flute and band teacher of 16 years! She has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education; History-Political Science from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and a Master of Educational Technology from Boise State University in Boise, ID. Mrs. Grimsrud is also a licensed music educator in both Idaho and Minnesota.
At the end of each class, students will be provided with play-along tracks for practice outside of class. Regular practice outside of class is strongly encouraged to reinforce skills taught in class.
Required Supplies: - Ukulele - Metronome (available free online) - Clip On Tuner or Tuning App
Students will receive verbal feedback during class. Written feedback will be provided as needed after each class.
2 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students may need assistance tuning their ukuleles prior to each class.
