Class Experience

Beginner Level
Self-paced ukulele lessons for students who are new to the instrument. No prior ukulele or music experience is needed. This course is perfect for complete beginners!

This ukulele class will allow students' first experiences with the instrument to be fun, memorable, and frustration-free! There will be no live classes. There will be engaging prerecorded video lessons, activities, and song sheets provided for practicing. Students will have access to a Google Slides presentation to practice and review the material learned throughout the course. Students can work on the lessons, chords, and songs at their own pace and watch the video lessons as many times as they wish. There will be opportunities to post questions and thoughts in the classroom. The teacher will be available to answer any questions that you may have as you are learning and practicing and provide tips to help you improve. Learners are encouraged to submit a video assignment after completing each lesson, demonstrating the technique, chords, and/or songs learned. This will allow each learner to receive individualized feedback and useful tips that will help them improve and master basic ukulele technique.

The teacher will provide each learner with individualized feedback on their progress after each video assignment is submitted.

I am a certified music educator with a M.A in Music & Music Education. I fell in love with the ukulele over a decade ago, and have been playing and teaching it ever since. I have been teaching group ukulele classes for 11 years. I also have taught private music lessons for 16 years. I love this instrument and specialize in teaching beginning instrumental music lessons to young beginners. The ukulele is a happy instrument, so my goal is to make learning the ukulele fun and frustration-free.
