No experience is necessary, however students should have a soprano or concert ukulele to use for this lesson. Students will learn the parts of the ukulele, how to hold the ukulele, the names of the strings, and the C chord. Students will apply their knowledge of the string names by playing various open string workouts set to various tracks I created. Students will be able to label all parts of the ukulele. Students will be able to name the strings and play various workouts on each string. Students will be able to strum the C chord and play along with a well known song.
No homework is required for this lesson.

Progress will be monitored through ongoing informal assessment.
