Description
Class Experience
Students that have learned the ukulele basics from the class MY NEW FRIEND UKE, will expand on their Ukulele play and take it to another level, learning a few new chords, strumming patterns and add a few more songs to their repertoire.
I am a singer and music therapist. I have been working with children with and without special needs through my music therapy practice and have been a teaching artist for different organizations, public library, museum, etc.
The homework will be to complete the class time with practice and continue the practice of what was learned through the week to be able to keep up the next lesson, chord or song. Students should be practicing a minimum of 5min everyday to improve.
2 files available upon enrollmentA TUNER- An electronic tuner or any Tuning app will work. A chair/space to sit preferably with feet on the floor. Playing on the bed/couch or high bar stool chairs is NOT RECOMMENDED for not developing bad postures and habits and we can get focused to our hands and finger coordination. If house or learning space is loud have headphones available.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
IF the student has never taken the basics class My New Friend Uke, it will be to the discretion of the teacher if the student is ready for the content in this class. TheLearner will be able to show us their improvement through their play and independent practice through the course.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will need a tuner, any electronic tuner or any application for the smart phone or tablet would work. I will also be adding songs and chord charts as needed, these can be kept physically in a folder/binder or downloaded and be available to be used electronically.
