JOIN ANYTIME! Learners will visit a new state each week so there is nothing they will miss from previous classes that will impact current classes. In this weekly, ongoing class, we will learn fun facts about each state through virtual field trips, interactive worksheets and videos. At the end of the class, learners will have the opportunity to share their artwork and their favorite facts. We will learn about all 50 states in an interactive and hands on manner to fulfill all learning styles of each individual student. States will be covered in order of their regions. Lessons will include the following about each state: -Capital -Abbreviation -State Nickname -State Flag -State Animals (insect, bird, fish, mammal) -State Flower & Tree -Date of Statehood -Best known for facts -Interesting and unique facts Supplies: -Material to draw and color will be needed each week. This can be as basic as a pencil, or you can have a box of crayons/colored pencils. It is up to the student how they want to record visual notes on the worksheet. -Worksheets will be uploaded into the classroom and act as a great supplement for homeschooling portfolios. Schedules: We will visit a new state each week and go in order of the regions of the United States. When you enroll, I will let you know what state we are on, or you can message to find out before enrolling. Northeast: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland Southeast: West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana Midwest: Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska Southwest: Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona West: Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Hawaii, Alaska This is an inclusive class in which students of all abilities are welcome. If a student is unable to communicate verbally, they are welcome to use the chat. If your student has any other needs that require accommodations, please let me know and we will work develop a way for your learner to participate in a way that they are able. This ongoing class meets each week, without a set end date. You may end your subscription or rejoin at any time!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Ms. Maria is a homeschooling mom with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Communication and Business. My minor is in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution. I have 11 years of classroom experience in the private school setting, and homeschool co-ops with elementary through high school. Also, I have worked as a Resource Teacher and developed plans for students to achieve and excel at their goals.
