In this weekly Touch-Typing Tutoring keyboarding class, students will continue to enhance their touch typing skills while improving their typing accuracy and speed. They will have the opportunity to socialize and collaborate with others.
🚩R E Q U I R E D🚩 - It is REQUIRED that students to attend the beginner level typing class before enrolling in the ongoing course. Please send a message if you have any questions. BEGINNER COURSE LINKS- are posted at the bottom for your convivence.
A comprehensive range of curriculum prepares your students with essential skills for school and their future. Engaging content includes Typing Lessons, Typing Tests, and Typing Games, as well as Creative writing, English base word and sight words, Affix Families, Greek and Latin Word root words, focus words, Career Skills, Coding, and fundamental Digital Literacy modules.
Students will be able to choose lessons that are tailored to their interest and skill level. We will learn to type, improve our typing and play typing games with our classmates. Certificates of Completion will be available to print for each completed level.
Students will have the opportunity to join the class and learn to type or practice on their individual skill level. This class provides students with a personal skill level of typing lessons. Students will take a pre-assessment typing test to determine their skill level.
Weekly Topics / Lesson will be on a rotating basis each week will have a different topic and lesson. These lessons are independent of each and do not build on one another to offer the students flexibility of which lesson they would like to attend. Dates and Topics are subject to change, please check your Learner's Schedule on Outschool.

Technology has improved our lives in many ways. Students began using technology at a young age, unfortunately bad keyboarding habits developed during those times. It is crucial that students learn to type the correct way early, to avoid repeating bad keyboarding habits. It takes a lot of practice to learn to type. Everyone learns to type at their own unique pace and speed. Not all students will be in the exact same lesson during class. This is a live class but it is an individual student paced class.

Parental Guidance
Students at this young age very often need adult assistance using a computer/keyboard. This class using edutyping.com school site licenses, each student will receive a unique unidentifiable username and password prior to class, that only has meaning to the teacher and parent / student.
PDF instructions will be sent to parents after enrolling explaining how to set up devices for the learner.

🍎 Mrs. Lauren - I'm a K-8 certified teacher in the state of Michigan and have been a teacher since 2011. I have a Masters degree in Teaching and Curriculum with an Educational Technology concentration and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Both degrees are from Michigan State University. I'm also a Google Certified Educator, both Levels 1 and 2.
I taught K-8 Computer and PreK-5 Library classes at a private school in southeast Michigan from 2016-2021. In my teaching career, I also have experience in middle school Math and English Language Arts, along with the general elementary classroom. On Outschool, I have taught various technology classes since summer 2020, including typing/keyboarding, Google Slides design, and coding.

I am a certified K-12 teacher in the state of Pennsylvania and have been teaching since 2018. I hold a bachelor's degree in Spanish Education and am currently working on my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I have teaching experience in elementary, middle, and high school. I currently teach Spanish at the high school level. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and watching them grow and learn.
