Technology has improved our lives in many ways. Students began using technology at a young age, unfortunately bad keyboarding habits developed during those times. It is crucial that students learn touch typing the correct way early, to avoid repeating bad touch typing / keyboarding habits. It takes a lot of practice to learn to type. Everyone learns to type at their own unique pace and speed. Not all students will be working on the exact same lesson during class. This is a live class but it is an individual student paced.

The course will consist of short lectures, demonstrations, and individual work.

What's Next?

Our Goal is to get through all the letters of the alphabet in this beginner level. All students learn at their level of comfort and pace. Accuracy is most important at this stage of their touch typing skills. Once the students have complete all of the beginner level, they can advance to the next class

There are various scheduling options for students:

NOTE TO PARENTS: This is an interactive classroom, with guidance from the teacher. Students will have the opportunity to interact, socialize while learning the correct form of typing, increase accuracy and speed. Students may need help to login in with their username and password prior to class. It is highly recommended that all students keep their cameras on during class, so I can observe they are practicing the proper keyboarding technique.
Learning Goals
Correct technique is the most important skill any beginning typist can learn. Speed and accuracy are all built around good technique. It is important that students learn the correct way, rather than learning to correct improper techniques.

🍎Mrs. Lisa T. - Hello, my name is Mrs. Lisa and I'm an experienced educator with a diverse background. My areas of expertise and certification include Kindergarten through 6th grade teacher, 7th and 8th grade all four core areas, Gifted and Talented Teacher and Director of Education, Special Education Grades 4 through 12 specialist as well as building principal for PreK through 8th grade. During Covid shutdowns and quarantines I discovered that my students and I loved the online platform. I taught in a one to one school. Every student had a laptop as well as a school hotspot if their family asked for one. I chose not to do the minimum "office hours" as my school required. I felt this did not meet my students' needs. I ran an online classroom during regular school hours as well as recorded the class for those students who were unable to connect with us or needed to hear the lesson more than once. My experience as a principal resulted in greatly improved learning for all students. The gifted students improved as well as those with learning disabilities. I believe in high expectations for all. High expectations that are attainable
