When you learn a new movement, your brain creates a memory of the pieces that make up that movement and stories it in your cerebellum. Scientists call this motor learning. Committing typing to muscle memory frees you from devoting mental energy to thinking about each letter as you type it. You’ll be able to focus on the content of what you’re typing rather than thinking about (or looking for) the next key to press. When your fingers just know where to go, it’s very relaxing.

Practicing the wrong way can be dangerous, as bad habits tend to crop up when you’re under pressure. And they are much harder to correct later.

1st Step - Laying the foundation - We teach you where each of your fingers go, and the best movements to take to press each key.

2nd Step - Correcting your mistakes - From the beginning, it’s important to take the time to do things right. After all, you want your muscle memory to deliver proper technique to your fingertips, not bad habits you accidentally stumbled into.

3rd Step - Strengthen Your Muscle Memory - Each repetition slightly strengthens your brain’s memory of “the right way” to perform the task and consolidate the results into muscle memory. Thus, the more repetitions you’ve performed, the more your brain has to analyze. Each practice session reinforces and strengthens the stored pattern, making it ever easier to recall. Eventually, you won’t even have to consciously think about it; your body just knows what to do.

The course will consist of short lectures, demonstrations, and individual work.

My goal is to help students build new tech skills, apply them in creative ways, and have lots of fun while learning!

During Covid shutdowns and quarantines I discovered that my students and I loved the online platform. I taught in a one to one school. Every student had a laptop as well as a school hotspot if their family asked for one. I chose not to do the minimum "office hours" as my school required. I felt this did not meet my students' needs. I ran an online classroom during regular school hours as well as recorded the class for those students who were unable to connect with us or needed to hear the lesson more than once. My experience as a principal resulted in greatly improved learning for all students. The gifted students improved as well as those with learning disabilities. I believe in high expectations for all. High expectations that are attainable
