Hold on to your lab coats because...this class is about to explode with creativity!! No matter which of my classes I am teaching, my learners often come to class with an item in hand or nearby that they want to share with me or their classmates. Their latest creation, a new item to a collection, etc. Thus I have now created this science-focused social club specifically to fill this need to show off their creativity, socialize with their peers, and be inspired by each other! Learners will become familiar with different types of science and familiar items that relate to them. Learners will get to practice creativity as well as interacting with their peers.
Before class begins, learners will check what the weekly theme will be for the upcoming class. They may then check the classroom post with explanations of the different types of science we will explore. Then they will begin their search for an item that they would like to share with their classmates that fits our theme. Learners are encouraged to be as creative as possible in selecting their item. They are also encouraged to prepare in advance, how they might like to present this item and what they might like to share about it.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
