Description
Class Experience
During this FLEX course students will learn about the difference between therapy animals, emotional support animals and service animals. Students will learn through teacher led discussions posted in the classroom. I will give brief information about the laws and rules regarding each type of helper animal by doing a write up in the classroom.. After I provide this information I will ask the students various questions. Some of the questions that may be asked in the classroom include: What...
I personally own and have trained service dogs and therapy animals.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The topic of mental health may briefly be discussed (such as depression and anxiety). I will not go into depth on this topic, but it may be mentioned during our discussion about emotional support animals. During our discussion about Service animals we will talk about various disabilities. Students are MORE than welcome to ask about my disability, as I have no problem discussing it with them. Some of the disabilities that may be brought up during the section of service animals are: deaf, blind, mobility issues, epilepsy, diabetes, ect. Videos are uploaded to you tube, they are set for kids, so there are no ads with the video. They are listed as unlisted so students will only be able to view them with the link listed in the classroom each week.
