When I was learning to tie my shoes I really struggled because I just didn't have the fine motor skills to be able to accomplish it in either of the two most commonly taught ways. I eventually discovered my own variation that worked for me and I have been able to teach it to many of my students who struggled to tie their shoes when I was working in a brick-and-mortar school.
