What's included

Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students will need to practice the steps learned each week. The amount of practice needed will vary by student but I recommend practicing for 5-10 minutes a day until mastered.

Class Experience

This a one-time flex class, which means that all of the video lessons will be posted on day one and the student will be able to work through them at their own pace. It is designed so that students will learn a new step each week and then learn how to put them all together. The lessons are prerecorded and will be posted on Mondays. Students will be asked to practice along with the videos and can reply with a written comment or video comment if they have any questions.

All of my classes are designed to be inclusive of all students. If your student needs any accommodations please reach out to me before class and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.
Learning Goals
Students will learn a method of tying using that is easier for many children who struggle with the 2 most commonly taught methods.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Gabrielle, I started teaching sewing lessons when I was a homeschool senior. I taught classes at a local home school group and discovered I had a passion for teaching. When I was 19 I discovered I was most likely autistic and was able to get an official diagnosis at 21. For me, this was a revelation and explained so much. It meant I was able to seek out others like me and was a huge game-changer for me.

For over 10 years now I have been teaching in different capacities and working with children with different disabilities and differences. I have been an in-home caregiver for a physically disabled child, a preschool teacher, a teacher's aid, a tutor and have been teaching online since January 2020. I also have an Associates' degree in special education.

I am proud to be autistic. This doesn't mean I don't have struggles but I firmly believe that we all have strengths and weaknesses. I strive to give all of my students a safe and welcoming place. All of my classes are inclusive which means students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.
