Students will learn how to tie their shoe laces. I will teach three different ways to tie shoes, plus an additional step of double knotting. The students will be introduced with a fun ice breaker, and then we will get to instruction. Students should have a shoe nearby so that they can follow along. Students will participate in a lot of repetition of tying and untying the shoe to make sure it sticks. My teaching style is more of a coach, giving them positive feedback and rewards throughout the class. Students will interact with each other at the beginning and end of class, and will interact with me the whole time. Students will be focused on their shoe for most of the class. Students should know the difference between their left and right hand prior to the class.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their ability to tie their own shoes.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach classes that suit my interest and expertise. I enjoy teaching English, Language Arts, and Reading along with the specific skills for these subjects. I enjoy teaching math as well (grades 1-6). In addition to core subjects, I've played guitar and ukulele for 10+ years and really love anything to do with arts/music. I dabble in calligraphy, photography, and health/fitness.
I am currently an online English teacher to friends in China, but prior to this, I was a third grade teacher in an elementary school.
I believe all people are unique individuals with various backgrounds, abilities and strengths. I believe if you set your mind to it and work hard, anything is possible to achieve. As a teacher, it is my duty to provide tools, strategies, and critical feedback for each student to learn as best as they can and find the joy in learning!
