This specific course is geared toward higher level thinking. Each literature circle role is directly connected to the 11 elements of critical thinking: big ideas, rules, trends, patterns, language of the discipline, ethics, relationships over time, details, unanswered questions, across disciplines and multiple perspectives. Week 1: Read pages 2-44. Introductions to one another, the book/author and to Literature Circles and expectations. Week 2: Read pages 46- 93 and complete your job assignment in preparation for class discussion. Week 2: Read pages 95- 137 and complete your job assignment in preparation for class discussion. Week 4: Read pages 139 - 185 and complete your job assignment in preparation for class discussion. Week 5: Read pages 187 - 235 and complete your job assignment in preparation for class discussion. Week 6: Read pages 237 - 276 and complete your job assignment in preparation for class discussion. Week 7: Read pages 278 - 330 and complete your job assignment in preparation for class discussion. Week 8: Read pages 332 - end of Author's Note and complete your job assignment in preparation for class discussion.
