Students will learn the strategies and techniques needed to successfully prepare a 5 minute speech in under 5 minutes. The skills learned in this course are valuable for award winning speeches in tournaments or simply presenting a short speech with a limited amount of preparation time. This course was offered as a single session course during the summer but is being extended to a multi session course in the fall and spring semesters due to high demand and parent and student requests.
No home work is required for this course but you will be encouraged to practice impromptu speeches on your own between sessions.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will receive instant oral feedback from the instructor immediately after each oral presentation. Students will receive at least two comments on that which they did well and two comments of constructive feedback to help them improve for future speeches.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
