This is a circle-time type class, where students are encouraged to talk and participate! We will be learning a different theme each week. All learning will be focused on that theme. Each week we learn a different letter. We learn how to write that letter and what sound that letter makes. This is a great foundation for learning how to read. We also learn a new number each week. We learn how to write that number and we practice counting to that number. We learn a new shape each week. We will practice making that shape and talk about where we can find that shape in our surroundings. We talk about colors as well. We sing songs about the days of the week and months of the year. We talk about our day of the week on our calendar. We have show and tell each week. The kids can bring something that relates to our theme and talk to us about it. The tentative schedule is: August: Me On The Map September: Me On The Map (continued) October: Human Body November: Space December: All Things Cold January: Farm **No class November 24-25 and December 20-31**
Learning Goals

They will be able to answer questions about our weekly theme. They will learn the days of the week and months of the year.
