Description
Class Experience
This course introduces students to basic debate skills and formats. On day 1, the focus is how to debate. Students will learn how to write an affirmative and negative constructive speech, how to cross examine and rebut an opponent, and how to use persuasion to present a winning debate conclusion. The instructor will use an example case to illustrate how to write debate cases and strategize a winning case. On day 2, students will apply the lessons learned on day 1 to an in session debate...
Students will learn and develop formats and skills for writing argumentative essays, Debate cases, and informative, persuasive, and impromptu style speeches in a fun zoom camp environment.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will receive instant oral feedback from the instructor. Students will receive at least two statements emphasizing what they did well and two statements emphasizing what they can do to improve the next time.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
