Description
Class Experience
I truly love facts and connections that are out-of-the-box, and I like to expand that knowledge in any way I am able to. One great way is teaching in a way that will be unique so both the students and myself can make discoveries, connections and relate to happenings we've never even thought about! This class has been around since 2020 and it is always amazing to teach these connections and see the lightbulbs go on in our classes.

As an educator, I highly value Outschool’s potential that allows me to teach a diverse population; students with differing beliefs, cultures, backgrounds, experiences and ideas. It is because of this that I have structured this class to the methods and critical thinking components we strive to give our children to understand information around us. I will be analyzing time periods that have a scientific basis supporting them; It should be noted, for example, that the age of dinosaurs will be discussed in relation to the timeline of the first modern human. I present this as a scientific find and will not be engaging in discussions about beliefs or if the scientific community is misinformed; however, it is my first priority to present the information in a way that will not inadvertently offend a student or make them feel unsafe.
