Each week this astronomy class takes learners on a tour of a different part of our solar system, including all the planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroid belt, and Oort cloud.

Students will know unique features of each of the objects of our solar system and be able to explain these destinations to others.
I specialize in finding fun twists to standard curriculum to help my students build critical thinking skills as well as scientific knowledge. By adding a new twist to a familiar topic we can expand our thinking to include new possibilities. I have taught science to homeschool students for the last 17 years and during that time I have developed many teaching techniques and hands-on projects to help students explore concepts in new and exciting ways. I have also taught several classes specifically about astronomy in which I allowed students to lead the choice of topics, helping me to know what learners want to know about space.
I post new printouts each week, but if learners would rather write and draw on plain paper that is fine as well. Learners will also want a pencil and colors for each lesson.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I may talk about the formation of the solar system and the universe, and when I do this I discuss the Big Bang theory of the universe forming.
