EDUCATION
Masters of Arts in Teaching
     Morningside College, Sioux City, IA

My master's thesis was about bibliotherapy and its impact on the social skills of students who are gifted. I pull from many sources (both personal and professional) in order to put together impactful classes for learners who identify as twice-exceptional. I've recently spent three years as a public school teacher providing special education reading services to middle school students. In addition, I've enjoyed organizing activities to help them with their social struggles. I also have extensive experience working with Davidson Young Scholars in the profoundly gifted population and with learners who identify as twice-exceptional.

I've also served as a K-8 enrichment coordinator/talented and gifted coach in the past, implementing various assessment strategies while providing specific feedback on student work. Regardless of student ability, my passion is implementing modifications and accommodations for comprehensive support of student needs.
