Class Experience
*This class was created for ongoing students of mine who want to take classes more long term. However, I am open to new students as well. For ongoing students, I teach a continuation of the "Japanese for Beginners" class and add new material every week. We will learn how to read Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji with proper pronunciation, understand the characteristics of Japanese language, and understand sentence structures. Hello, my name is Maya. I have been living and working at a Japanese Women's University for five years and teaching Japanese since 2016. I teach English to Japanese students so I have experience in trying to create fun and engaging lessons for students! I am majoring in ESL and Japanese and have a passion for learning and teaching languages.
Homework is completed individually
Teaching Materials: PDF file Text Documents Presentation slides/PPT Audio files Image files Homework Songs Digital flashcards and a Japanese dictionary app strongly recommended. A printer is needed to print homework Pencil and a notebook is required for notes We will begin writing in the first lesson, so please come prepared with a pencil.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Through homework, in class review, and informal assessment as I see how they have progressed through the class
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
You will need access to Google Drive and Google Documents.
