Other friends may be away at school during the day or maybe you live in a rural area where other girls are too far away to chat with. I am the mother of a homeschooled 15-year-old girl and I know that finding a social group can be tough. There are co-ops that meet and classes to take, even extracurriculuar activities we are involved in, but sometimes these meet sparsely and I know how important it is for girls to have a group they fit in and can see all the time. Before homeschooling my own daughter, I taught middle school in the public school system for 10 years.....I was surrounded by tweens :-)
Activities are not mandatory and can be adapted to fit the needs of each individual learner. No homework or assignments given; just a safe space for learners.
