Tween Friends: Social and Conversation Homeschool and Distant Learners Club

Is it hard for your child to set up times where they can interact socially with their peers?  Come to my weekly ongoing class where learners from all over the world can come together and socialize with their peers while also making new friends.  Social interaction is not only good for your child's brain health but it will give your child higher self-confidence too.  

We will start the class with introductions and an ice breaker question. I will serve as the facilitator of each club meeting by introducing learning activities, managing classroom expectations, and providing feedback to facilitate critical thinking.  I will introduce weekly topics for the learners to discuss, such as hobbies, movies, video games, and other topics of interest.  There will also be a time when learners to be able to introduce their own topic too.  Each learner will be given ample time to engage in the class and will be recognized and praised for their efforts. We will be practicing social conversation skills, listening skills, taking turns, and socialization.  This class is a safe place for tweens to come in a supportive environment to discuss life.  There is no prior or background knowledge required for this course.

This class is perfect for children of all abilities. I am happy to make any accommodations so that your child can have the best experience possible.  Please feel free to contact me with any specifics that will help your child to be able to participate in the class to their fullest extent. At times breakout rooms are used to help reluctant speakers or people who normally would not participate in a discussion with a big group. Breakout rooms also help give more students the chance to talk and discuss the topic.
